Nice Côte d’Azur airport is one of the closest to its city in France. Reaching central Nice after a flight is therefore easy, provided you choose the right mode of transport for your situation. Tram, bus or car with driver: each option has its strengths. This comparison helps you decide according to your luggage, your group and your arrival time.

The tram
How it works
Line T2 links the airport to the city centre and the port. The stops are close to the terminals. The tram is frequent and unaffected by traffic jams.
Who is it for?
The tram suits solo travellers or couples with little luggage whose hotel is near a stop. It is economical and quick during the day.
The limitations
With several suitcases, a pushchair or tired children, the journey becomes less comfortable, especially at rush hour. You then have to walk from the stop to your address. Late at night or very early in the morning, check the service hours.
The regular bus
How it works
Several bus lines serve the airport, to Nice and other towns on the French Riviera. Timetables and fares are published by the transport networks.
Who is it for?
The bus can be useful if your destination is not served by the tram, or to reach a neighbouring town at lower cost.
The limitations
It depends on traffic, which makes journey times variable. Luggage space is limited, and connections can lengthen the trip.
The car with driver
How it works
You book in advance. Your chauffeur tracks your flight and awaits you in the arrivals hall with a name board. He takes your luggage and drops you at your hotel or apartment.
Who is it for?
- Families with children: child seats provided free of charge on request.
- Travellers with plenty of luggage: suitcases, pushchairs, sports equipment.
- Business travellers who wish to work or rest during the journey.
- Late arrivals, when public transport becomes scarce.
- Groups of up to seven in a Mercedes V-Class.
The advantages
Door to door, no connections, a price set before the journey, per vehicle rather than per person. Your chauffeur adapts to a flight delay with no extra arrangements on your part.
Making your choice at a glance
- Travelling light, alone, during the day : the tram is a good option.
- Your destination is outside the centre : compare the bus and a car with driver.
- Travelling as a family or group : a car with driver quickly becomes more practical, as the price is per vehicle.
- Arriving late or very early : book a chauffeur so you are not dependent on timetables.
And to reach the railway station?
If you are continuing your journey by train, a chauffeur can take you directly from the airport to Nice-Ville station. See our page Nice station transfer.
Our tips on arrival
- Have the exact address of your accommodation ready.
- Note your arrival terminal to give the right meeting point.
- Keep some battery to contact your chauffeur if needed.
