The route through Liguria
A8 then A10 towards Genoa, then A12 towards Viareggio, then A11 via Lucca and Prato. The border is crossed at Ventimiglia; tolls included. A break on the coast, after La Spezia, is most welcome.
The centre and its ZTL
The heart of Florence is a limited traffic zone, monitored by cameras. If your hotel is inside it, the hotel registers our number plate: give us its name and we will send it the details. Otherwise, drop-off is at the nearest entrance, and your chauffeur carries your suitcases.
Chianti, Fiesole and villas
Many travellers stay in a Chianti villa, around Greve or Castellina. Above the city, Fiesole preserves a Roman theatre; Settignano and Bellosguardo host stays and weddings. With a chauffeur at your disposal, you move between wine estates and villages without taking the wheel.
Trade fairs, weddings and shopping
Pitti Uomo, in January and June at the Fortezza da Basso, villa weddings in spring: schedules are kept. The Mall at Leccio, half an hour away, fits easily into the return journey, with your purchases travelling in the boot. A single day is enough to discover Siena and San Gimignano.

Possible pick-up: Terminals 1 and 2 at Nice airport, Cannes, Monaco, Nice-Ville station. Drop-off: Lungarno hotels, Santa Maria Novella station, Fiesole, Chianti or Peretola airport. In the evening, a detour via Piazzale Michelangelo offers a first view over the city.

On Mondays, both the Uffizi and the Accademia are closed, and their tickets sell out weeks in advance: book them before setting your departure time.
