Car with driver from Nice to Rome
Italy · 700 km · about 7 h 45 of driving · price on quotation
Nice – Rome is a long day's drive along the sea, from Liguria to Tuscany. An ideal option for a family with plenty of luggage or for reaching the Vatican without connections.

The coastal route via the Aurelia
A8 then A10 towards Genoa, then the A12 via La Spezia and Viareggio to Livorno, before following the Aurelia via Grosseto and Civitavecchia. The border is crossed at Ventimiglia; Italian tolls included. With more than seven hours at the wheel, allow at least two stops plus lunch.
A stopover in Tuscany
For families, an evening in Lucca or the Maremma splits the journey in two. Otherwise, a few stops are enough: the cypress avenue of Bolgheri, the old harbour of Castiglione della Pescaia or the Etruscan tombs of Tarquinia. Chauffeur rest times are respected: beyond nine hours of driving, an overnight stop is planned.
Entering Rome
The historic centre is a limited traffic zone. Your chauffeur drops you at the nearest access point, or even at your hotel if it has registered our number plate. The Vatican, Termini station, Fiumicino and Ciampino are all served. In Trastevere, with its narrow lanes, drop-off is on the banks of the Tiber. For Ostia or Fregene, your chauffeur bypasses the city.
The Vatican and major celebrations
During major ceremonies, St Peter's Square and its surroundings are closed. Show us your audience ticket: we will choose a realistic drop-off point.
Civitavecchia, the cruise port
Rome's cruise ships dock at Civitavecchia, an hour north of the capital. Your chauffeur meets you at the quay and heads back to the French Riviera without crossing Rome.
