Tasting Provence wines and taking the wheel do not go together. With a chauffeur, you fully enjoy each estate without worrying about the drive back. Here are the vineyards to discover from Nice and how to organise your day.

Bellet, the vineyard of Nice
On the hills above Nice, the Bellet appellation is among the smallest in France. Its estates produce whites, rosés and reds from rare grape varieties. It is the ideal half-day excursion, without leaving the outskirts of the city.
The Côtes de Provence
Between the Var and the hinterland, the Côtes de Provence are famous for their rosés. Around Saint-Tropez, La Croix-Valmer or Lorgues, many estates open their cellars for tastings, sometimes with lunch on site. A full day lets you visit two or three.
Bandol and the Var coast
Further west, Bandol is renowned for its Mourvèdre reds and its age-worthy rosés. The drive is longer: we recommend devoting the whole day to it, perhaps combined with a stop in Cassis or Sanary. Our article chauffeur in the Var, from Hyères to Cassis presents this coastline.
Preparing the visits
Many estates receive visitors by appointment. Book your tastings in advance, then send us the addresses and times: we build the itinerary and estimate driving times according to traffic. Your chauffeur waits for you during each visit.
The right vehicle
For two, the Mercedes S-Class offers ideal comfort for a day on the road. For groups, the V-Class seats up to seven people and leaves room for the cases bought at the estates. See our comparison S-Class or V-Class.
Your purchases
The bottles you buy travel safely in the boot. For larger volumes, ask the estates whether they offer home delivery.
Pairing vineyards and gastronomy
A day in the vineyards is also a chance to discover Provençal cuisine. Many estates have their own restaurant or work with nearby restaurants. Your chauffeur drops you for lunch and collects you at the end of the meal. In the evening, if you dine in a hinterland village, he brings you back to your hotel without anyone having to forgo a glass. For a birthday or a group of friends, this turns the visit into a true outing, and everyone enjoys the day to the full.
The best times of year
Spring and autumn are pleasant seasons for visiting the estates, with mild temperatures and moderate crowds. During the harvest, some estates are very busy: check before booking.
